It’s been two years since I “finished” the guest room. But now it’s really done. We had a very good September which enabled me to finally get the closet doors. I’d already decided which style I wanted since I’d had two years to plan it.

The new doors
I had a weekend with nothing else to do (a rarity in my life), and great weather. It took me about 2 hours to get the doors hung before I painted them. These were primed doors, and I decided not to paint the back. I knew it would take me a while to get them up, and I was TWITCHY. So I put them up before I painted them.

Unpainted doors
If you look at the trim, you can see the difference between the primer color and the white trim. I painted them completely with a brush since there are very few flat surfaces with the panels. Coat one that same day. Coat two the next morning. I was able to leave the windows open overnight, the paint not being a low VOC version. And in just one weekend, I finished what had been hanging over my head for two years.
